Kevin Solis, O.D. graduated as a Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts.
Post graduation, Dr. Solis completed a Residency in Ocular Pathology and Geriatrics at the West Los Angeles VAMC through the Southern California College of Optometry's Residency program.
During his residency, Dr. Solis was one the first to perform a clinical study in the use of the new scanning laser ophthalmoscope technology to evaluate the optic nerves in the veteran population.
Other areas of focus included diabetic retinopathy, low vision, and specialty contact lenses. While at the West Los Angeles VAMC, Dr. Solis also served as a Clinical Assistant Instructor.
When Dr. Solis relocated to San Diego, he established a 23 year private practice and enjoyed seeing patients of all ages and ethnicities while he concurrently established co-management relationships with many of the area's top Ophthalmology groups.
Dr. Solis's current interest is in the study of Myopia Control and Specialty Contact Lenses which is what drew him into Complete Family Vision Care Optometry with Dr. Eric White.
Outside of his professional life Dr. Solis likes to explore/travel to historical locations but he especially enjoys San Diego's top attractions - ethnic food and sun - whereby you'll find him spending quality time with his wife and young children.
